Holy Cow!!!

So dad calls me this afternoon asking if we have a dining room table. I say well yea as a matter of a fact we have 2 of them! I said but the new house has a dining room and no eat in kitchen. He says oh, well grandma, his mom, said not to buy one that she would give us the one she has which is my great grandmas, her moms! I was totally surprised being she normally isn't that "Giving" so to speak! While I thought it was really cool I said, dad did you forget that I already have great grandma Fisher's table and chairs? He says oh when did you get that? I said after my Aunt sold her house and didn't take it with her my grandpa asked if we wanted it and I said well of course, me being the sentimental type. So anyways he then took it home and sanded it down and refinished it for us! So anyways I guess dad didn't remember that we had it! But I was really surprised that grandma offered us the table. Though she has been more strange lately, strangely enough in a good way!

Our First Home!

After months and months of looking at houses....of which I lost count of how many after 50 of them, we found one we both really really liked! The more amazing part was that we, for once were the first and only ones putting an offer in! That after 2 other offers we put in for 2 other houses, one being a total pain and kick in the ass, after being strung along for over a month by the Realtor and Bank of the Seller giving up story after story. Telling us we would be getting a counter offer in so many days. Finally the Realtor was so kind to call our Realtor to tell her they had closed on the house the previous night! They wanted to keep us on the line in case the first buyers fell thru, all the time feeding our Realtor many lines of bull!

On to the new house. We looked at it and I loved it! Pretty much the best one we had looked at! Anyways I didn't say to hubby how much I loved it initially, just said that yea I liked it. Then on the way home he says I love that house it's the one! He finally understands what I was wanting in a house as well! When the perfect one came along we would know it! So call me a dork but after seeing the house and really liking it I knew it was the one. The house number is 171 the same as my parents! Now to outsiders it wouldn't have much meaning, so lets go back about 10 years. I met my husband whose last name began with "S", my nickname was SAS, so my grandpa found it very humurous and said go figure she would marry someone so her new initals would match her nickname! So now forward to finding a house with the same house number as my parents, I just took it as a sign that, this house was meant to be! Many other houses we looked at hubby liked many of them and I just looked at him like he was crazy....even though I kept telling him I wanted a house that was big enough to have family and or friends over for dinners and holidays without having to sit on each others laps! Now we will have that! Plenty of room for lots of things!

3 Times a Charm?

So is 3 times really the charm? I guess we will find out this year. Does it take three tries at things to get the desired effect you are looking for? Well Chris and I are hoping so! Or is it three strikes and you are out? Time will tell. Right now it's all a waiting game. Waiting and hoping you get the desired outcome. After 2 times we were both ready to throw in the towel. So I am really afraid to see what happens the third time around if things don't go they way we need them to go. But hey, it's not like it can really get any worse is it? Life sure is trying and stressful some days!

Today's Ramblings

I repeat..I love my children, I love my children, I love my children! Is it convincing to anyone else yet? Or anyone who may have been in earshot in the last 3 hours today? Day 4 of daddy being gone, (he's currently in San Diego on a 5 day training course for the Reserves!) and you sure can tell! Was trying to unload and reload the dishwasher, a chore that should really only take 5-10 minutes. Until this afternoon that was! It took more like a half an hour because I had to keep running to the living room every 30 seconds and if you saw my house you would know that the kitchen and living room are rather close to each other. I love it when they argue on and on about silly stuff and meaningless things. You know I always wanted a little sister. Then I had 2 younger brothers whom had to share a room as well as many other things. SO then I thought it wasn't so bad NOT having a sister! I didn't have anyone stealing my clothes or my girly toys! Of course now having a sister would be nice! Someone to share things with and such like that. I do have a few friends that are like sisters to me, so that helps. Anyways I remember having some arguments with my brothers but not the same as when the 2 of them would argue or fight with each other. I remember after a while if I was in my room and the boys started fighting I would get a scratching at the door from the dog wanting to come in my room for safety. After a while she just got smart enough to just follow me when I went up to my room. She would just lay by the door or on my bed. Then when I started driving she went everywhere with me. She would sit in the car for hours waiting for me. Of course only when weather permitted! I remember when I went to Mexico my Junior year, my mom said the poor dog was lost without me! Everywhere they went she insisted on coming in hopes that they would be going where I was! A few years later I was sad to see her go! Dad and Adam took her to have her put down. I couldn't bear to go but I told them to take her in my car so she could have her last ride!

Wow anyways I never intended for this entry to go this way it has! Guess it fits the title!

Ecstatic

So Mom totally loved the portraits! She had no idea we had them done either. She said yes it was a total surprise! Now we will see how long it will take her to actually hang the frames on her wall! Though she has taken the smaller pictures to work and everywhere else to show them off! Josh told her she could take down our Senior pictures and put the new ones up in place of that! Josh told her he was the one that hated having his picture taken the most, but he did it because he knew how badly she had wanted some! What a sweetheart huh? HEHEHE
